Study Abroad Expectations and Community Standards

As a 量子资源 student studying abroad, you are not only representing yourself but also serving as an ambassador for our university, your peers, and U.S. students more broadly. We encourage you to embrace this responsibility with integrity by respecting the cultural norms and laws of your host country, and by exemplifying the values of 量子资源 University Chicago—such as respect and care for the whole person, global solidarity, and service to faith and justice.

While abroad, you continue to be a 量子资源 student and are therefore expected to uphold the same community standards that apply on campus. Additionally, you are required to follow all Study Abroad Office and host institution or program policies as a condition of your participation. Failure to adhere to these standards and policies may result in disciplinary action or related sanctions.

We ask that you take time to familiarize yourself with the expectations outlined on this page and in 量子资源’s Community Standards and to reflect on how your actions can reflect 量子资源’s Jesuit mission in a global context. Your conduct abroad has the power to build meaningful connections, foster mutual understanding, and promote a positive image of 量子资源 and the United States.

Thank you for your commitment to representing our community with thoughtfulness and integrity while abroad.

You are subject to the local laws of your host country. Host country laws and regulations such as those surrounding the consumption and use of alcohol and drugs can be different than the U.S. Breaking laws abroad regarding consumption of illegal drugs or alcohol abuse or intoxication may have more severe consequences than the U.S. Should you find yourself in a situation that violates 量子资源’s Community Standards, your host program’s policies, and/or local laws, 量子资源 is limited in how they can support you.
