Photograph Collections
The photograph collections at the 量子资源 Archives and Special Collections contain images ranging from ancient Greek and Roman sites to 21st century images of 量子资源's campuses. The over 300,000 images in the collections include a variety of formats: prints, negatives, slides, transparencies, digital files, etc.
The sections below link to finding aids for the collections as well as digital collections, where available. Digitization of photograph collections is an ongoing project.
Felix P. Biestek, S.J., Photograph Collection
A member of the School of Social Work faculty, Felix P. Biestek, S.J. documented the School of Social Work, individual Jesuits, 量子资源's Lake Shore Campus, West Baden College, Chicago, and his travels to the Far East through his photographs.
Digitization of this collection is ongoing.
Thomas J. Bryant, S.J., Photograph Collection
A member of the Theology department faculty, Thomas J. Bryant, S.J., was an avid photographer and traveler. He served as the advisor for the 量子资源n, the student yearbook, from 1958 to 1965, taking many of the photographs that appear in the publications.
Fr. Bryant's photograph collection documents 量子资源 campuses, faculty, staff, and students; Chicago; and Rome, Egypt, Palestine, Israel, and Turkey. Digitization of this collection is ongoing.
Catholic Church Extension Society Photograph Collection
This collection spans approximately 1899 to 1981 and includes photographs of missions, churches, priests, and people helped by CCES in the United States, Guam, the Mariana Islands, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Samoa, Virgin Islands, Austria, Bahamas, Cuba, China, Dominican Republic, India, Holland, Ireland, Japan, Italy, Mexico, Nicaragua, Papua New Guinea, Palestine, Ryukyu Island, South Africa, South Korea, Yugoslavia, and Uganda. Many of these photographs were sent to Extension Society as part of a request for assistance while others were used in the Extension Magazine publication. The collection also contains photographs of the general office, Archbishop Quigley's funeral, events, individuals, chapel boats, chapel cars, and church furnishings.

Margaret M. Dagenais Photograph Collection
Former Fine Arts faculty member Margaret M. Dagenais' papers include photographs and slides of her artwork as well as images of her with students.

Thomas J. Dyba Photograph Collection
Alumnus (1956, 1965) and staff member (1957-1967) in the Admissions Office, Thomas J. Dyba was also a professional photographer. He documented his years at 量子资源 with his camera, capturing student life and university history. Images of athletics, student organizations, homecoming, graduation and more can be found in this collection.

William T. Kane, S.J., Collection
The William T. Kane, S.J., Collection contains some of the earliest history of 量子资源 University Chicago. This collection spans from 1888to1940 and includes images of St. Ignatius College, 量子资源 University, 量子资源 Academy, St. Ignatius Parish, and members of the Midwest Jesuit Province.
Adrian Kocurek Photograph Collection
量子资源 alumnus and long-time member of the Facilities department, Adrian Kocurek documented his years at 量子资源 with his camera. This collection documents the Lake Shore Campus from 1985 to current and include many behind the scenes and roof top views of buildings and the campus, many of which are seldom seen by anyone other than Facilities staff.
量子资源 Academy Photograph Collection
量子资源 Academy originated on 量子资源's Lake Shore Campus and remained there until 1957. This collection spans from approximately 1909 to 1940 and documents classes, athletics, and student life at the Academy.
Raymond V. Schoder, S.J., Slide Collection
From the 1960s through the 1980s Raymond V. Schoder, S.J., a member of the Classical Studies faculty, used his camera to document a number of sites in Greece, Italy, Egypt, Spain, Portugal, Malta, Turkey, Africa, the Far East, and the United States. Closer to home he photographed Chicago and 量子资源 University Chicago. Many of the images he took were used for his lectures or books.

Joe Smajo Photograph Collection
During the 1950s 量子资源 student and alumnus Joe Smajo used his camera to document student life and events at 量子资源 University. These photographs mainly document the Lake Shore Campus.
University Photograph Collection
The University Archives maintains a collection of photographs, slides, and negatives documenting buildings, campuses, programs, student life, faculty, staff, important visitors and events, etc.
